It’s been a crazy few weeks and I’ve been under a lot of stress, good stress, but stress nonetheless. If you’ve followed along on my Instagram account then you already know we recently bought a house – and are starting renovations on the kitchen and flooring and well, lots of other areas. Like I said, stress, but good stress. Which is exactly why getting a pixie-dusted “Be Our Guest” email from Disney inviting me to LA for the live-action film release of Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, from March 4th to the 7th, was extremely welcoming. When Disney said Be Our Guest, of course I said YES!
Be Our Guest Event
Disney has been really kind to me and I’ve been out to LA for these special trips twice before. My first trip was in 2015 for McFarland, USA and again in 2016 for Alice Through The Looking Glass. What an experience these trips have been. How could I say anything but yes when Disney says Be Our Guest in 2017 for Beauty and the Beast! The trip agenda is set and I’m ecstatic to share all that my trip entails so that you can Be Our Guest and follow along with me!
Along with 24 bloggers, I”ll be in Los Angeles from Saturday, March 4th – Tuesday, March 7th to screen Beauty and the Beast, which opens in theatres on March 17th! But that’s not all! In these 4 fun filled days we’ll be screening the new Disneynature film BORN IN CHINA, attending a special In-Home release of MOANA (available on Digital HD now and Blu-ray 3/7) presentation, the new Disney Channel show TANGLED: THE SERIES, the upcoming Disney Channel series ANDI MACK, the hit Disney XD series MILO MURPHY’S LAW, the hit Freeform show BABY DADDY, the hit ABC show THE CATCH and the new ABC sitcom IMAGINARY MARY! Oh, and can’t forget the best part of all, attending the press junket for Beauty and the Beast cast and filmmaker interviews.
Beauty and the Beast
Disney said Be Our Guest at a special advance screening of the live-action Beauty and the Beast movie, which opens in theatres March 17th! And of course I said YES!!! The girls have seen Beauty and the Beast in basically every format, including on stage and know about all things Belle. I can’t wait to get back and take them to see it. While in LA we will interview Director Bill Condon & Alan Menken (Music By), as well as hear a special music presentation at the piano by Menken.
After which we will interview Luke Evans (“Gaston”), Josh Gad (“Le Fou”), Audra McDonald (“Garderobe”), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (“Plumette”), Emma Watson (“Belle”) & Dan Stevens (“The Beast / Prince Adam”). In case you read that too fast let me reiterate – INTERVIEW WITH EMMA WATSON!!! How many of you are Hermione fans like myself? It’s such an honor to have Disney say “Be Our Guest” on this adventure. This is a total dream come true!
Beauty and the Beast Trailer
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts. Be our guest and see it in theatres on March 17th!
Moana
The girls fell in love with Moana when we saw the movie in theatres. During the trip we’ll be attending a special presentation for the MOANA Blu-ray release, March 7th, which includes amazing bonus features. We’ll also have a chance to do a Q&A with Director Ron Clements and Producer Osnat Shurer. Can’t wait for the Blu-ray release? No worries because it’s already available on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere!
Moana Trailer
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.
We will screen the upcoming release Disneynature Born in China film. Narrated by John Krasinski, the movie hits theatres on April 21 – a great way to celebrate Earth Day! I showed the girls the trailer as I was prepping this post and all I heard was “ohhh”s, ahhh’s and awww’s…the animals are so cute.” It’s great to hear their excitement and desire to learn more about the animals.
Disneynature Born in China Trailer
Disneynature, in its ongoing quest to bring the natural world to the big screen as never before, presents its most ambitious project to date, taking moviegoers on a grand journey into the wilds of China. “Born In China” follows the adventures of three animal families — the majestic panda, the savvy golden monkey and the elusive snow leopard. Featuring stunning imagery, the film navigates the vast terrain—from the frigid mountains to the heart of the bamboo forest—on the wings of a red-crowned crane, showcasing remarkably intimate family moments captured on film for the first time ever.
Disney Channel Original Movie “Tangled Before Ever After”
Screening the Disney Channel Original Movie “Tangled Before Ever After” which premieres Friday, March 10th at 8/7c, followed by a Q&A with Executive Producer/Supervising Director Chris Sonnenburg and Supervising Producer Ben Balistreri. The TV movie, which kicks off the highly-anticipated premiere of “Tangled: The Series”, debuting Friday, March 24th at 7:30/6:30c, unfolds as Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona. Her irrepressible spirit and natural curiosity about the world lead her to realize that there is so much more she needs to learn about the world and herself before she can assume her role as Princess of Corona.
Disney Channel’s upcoming series “Andi Mack”
We will screen 2 episodes of Disney Channel’s upcoming series “Andi Mack” which premieres early spring 2017, followed by a Q&A session with Peyton Elizabeth Lee (“Andi Mack”), Lilian Bowden (“Bex”), Lauren Tom (“Cecilia”), Creator/Executive Producer Terri Minsky and Executive Producer Michelle Manning. “Andi Mack” is a contemporary, coming-of-age story about a relatable girl who’s trying to determine where she fits in — and the many amazing ways she can live her life. Andi has been raised to live on the safe side but on her 13th birthday, she takes off the proverbial training wheels and eagerly goes headlong into her teenage years. At every twist and turn, she’s anchored by a loving albeit complicated family and her loyal best friends, Cyrus and Buffy.
Disney XD’s “Milo Murphy’s Law”
Attending a special screening of Disney XD’s “Milo Murphy’s Law” (new episodes debut beginning Monday, March 6th), followed by a Q&A with Creators and Executive Producers Dan Povenmire & Jeff “Swampy” Marsh (of the Emmy Award-winning animated series “Phineas and Ferb”). “Milo Murphy’s Law” is an animated comedy series that follows 13-year-old Milo Murphy, the fictional great-great-great-great grandson of the Murphy’s Law namesake. Milo is the personification of Murphy’s Law, where anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
Freeform’s “Baby Daddy”
First we will screen the season 6 premiere episode of Freeform’s “Baby Daddy” (season 6 premieres Monday, March 13th at 8:30/7:30c). Then we will be having a fun “baby shower” luncheon with the cast followed by a Q&A with Chelsea Kane (“Riley Perrin”), Derek Theler (“Danny Wheeler”) and Tahj Mowry (“Tucker Dobbs”) – his sisters are the famous Mowry twins – Tia and Tamera! The baby shower will celebrate the pregnancy of Danny and Riley, who found out in the season five finale that they were expecting. The season six premiere will pick up three months after the finale, and Ben is still enthusiastically searching for the mysterious Elle. Danny and Riley are hunting for a good doctor to help with the pregnancy, and Bonnie desperately wants to be involved. Tucker is back from Los Angeles, but he refuses to tell anyone what happened while he was there.
ABC’s “The Catch”
Until my invite for this trip I hadn’t seen even episode of this show. I’m on the HOOK – and feel like “The Catch”. One of the perks of what I do is getting to see certain shows in advance so first I binged on Season 1 and then without skipping a beat was able to see a few of the upcoming seasons episodes. With the premiere around the corner, now is a good time to get caught up. “The Catch” will return for Season 2 on Thursday, March 9th at 10/9c as part of ABC’s exciting #TGIT line-up! We’ll be interviewing some of the cast, but they’re keeping a secret for now.
“The Catch” is a sexy, scintillating game of cat and mouse between L.A.’s top private investigator, Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), and the man she loves, Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause), the world’s most formidable con artist. At the beginning of season two, con man Benjamin Jones has gone from committing the ultimate betrayal to performing the ultimate sacrifice, when he turned himself in to the FBI to save Alice from wrongful imprisonment. Now in jail, Ben is forced to reckon with his criminal past, while the team at Anderson Vaughan Investigations must come to terms with getting in bed with the bad guys. How will Alice and Ben game the system — and each other — to stay together and overcome their less-than-legal pasts?
ABC’s newest comedy “Imaginary Mary”
Watching an exclusive sneak preview of the Series Premiere and second episode of “Imaginary Mary”, sampled on Wednesday, March 29th at 8:30/7:30c followed by its time slot premiere on Tuesday, April 4th at 9:30/8:30c. Imaginary Mary is the newest ABC comedy about a fiercely independent career woman (Jenna Elfman) whose life is turned upside-down when she meets the love of her life – a divorced father with three kids. This triggers even more upheaval when the slightly unhinged imaginary friend (voiced by Rachel Dratch) she created as a child suddenly reappears to help her navigate the transition from single girl to a woman ready for a family. The sneak preview will be followed by a Q&A with Jenna Elfman, her co-star Stephen Schneider, and Executive Producers David Guarascio and Patrick Osborne.
